UPDATE 4/26: We have an accepted offer! The sale is now officially PENDING!
Are you looking for a home in the legendary Power Ranch? We may have just the house you are looking for!
My name is Kurt. My wife, April, and I bought our home at 4276 S Reindeer Ct when it was new, back in 2002. Power Ranch was just getting started back then and we watched as everything grew up around us. I’ll admit it; we love this home and love this neighborhood and are reluctant to leave it. The only thing that could tear us away was the pressing need for more land (Power Ranch may be great, but it doesn’t have any acre lots!). We want the next owner of this house to love it as much as we have.
Allow me to tell you all about it.
Just the Facts, Ma’am
4276 S Reindeer Ct, Gilbert AZ 85297 is a one-story house with 4 bedrooms (including a home theater) and 2 bathrooms in 2160 sq ft. Two cars can fit comfortably in the 3-car garage (the third bay has built-in cabinets). The back yard has a Shasta Premiere diving pool (PebbleTec, in-ground cleaning heads, advanced salt system, etc) with a semi-attached four person electric hot tub. A triad of orange, grapefruit, and lemon trees provide more fruit (better tasting than anything you can buy at the store!) than we can handle. The dual-zone A/C system (upgraded with a second 13 seer heat pump in 2007) keep everything comfortable on even the hottest days.
Power Ranch is split into “neighborhoods” and our home is in The Vineyards. A few steps out the door and you’re on the extensive (many miles long) walking and biking trail system. In particular, the Power Ranch Elementary school is a five minute walk away — all on the safe trail system. A little past that is one of the Power Ranch Clubhouses complete with a 2 acre fishing lake, fountains, pools, playgrounds, and more than I can easily list.
Power Ranch may be on the extreme edge of Gilbert, but it’s still surrounded by shopping. For instance, there is an Albertsons, Safeway, CVS, Walgreens, several fast food restaurants, and even a Home Depot all within easy walking distance. When you want more, just hop on the 202 freeway — it’s only a few miles away.
This website may be informal but that doesn’t mean we’re not selling this through the normal MLS system; we are! Check out our official listing. Contact your Realtor or ours (Bill Lesueur; 602-330-3357; wlesueur@hotmail.com) to schedule a showing.

Sweating the Details
It’s the details that make a house a home and we tend to focus almost obsessively on those details. I’ll describe just a few of those details, here.
First, let’s look at the pool. I challenge you to find a better pool than this one in a house even close to this price range. You won’t! I am that confident because, well, we “over-built” when we got this pool. Rather than spend $20,000 on a typical pool by a fly-by-night company, we invested nearly $50,000 on a Shasta premium one. We started with a full diving pool with PebbleTec interior. But then we spent more to get the in-ground pop-up cleaning heads; who wants to have to deal with one of those crawlers hooked up to a hose? And chlorine? Naw, we went with a salt system that generates just the right amount of chlorine. Salt systems aren’t new, though, and they have the disadvantage of making the water taste salty. Well, not this system. Shasta’s QuickChlor salt system uses dramatically less salt than any other salt system out there. Yes, it cost a bit more… but it was so worth it. Then we moved on to a hot tub. It’s a normal four person electric hot tub; we just had it integrated into the pool setting with the same cool-decking and concrete so it looks seamless. Yep, that cost a bit more, too. The end result is that you’re going to get all of this upgraded goodness practically for free! Don’t ask me how I feel about that… but in the end, if you love it as much as we do, then it’s all good!
Oh, and the fence around the pool? The Town of Gilbert doesn’t require a fence but getting one is the right thing to do. We splurged a bit on that, too, by getting a “plastic” fence. Why? Unlike a wrought-iron fence, it’ll never rust, never need painting, never gets hot, and will last practically forever. Seriously, no maintenance at all!
The side entrance gate to the backyard has its own story. Basically, the gate that came with the house was on its last legs and needed to be replaced. Rather than get a DIY special from Home Depot, we upgraded to gate from First Impression. It was so nice that we needed special permission from the HOA to use it. No kidding! Seriously, when you come see the house, you have to try going through the gate and feel the quality yourself. Yeah, it’s a detail… and those details matter!
The trend continues inside. When we replaced the doors in the Master Bedroom, it was with sound dampening solid-core doors. All of the door hardware throughout the house is upgraded to a new level of quality that you can feel. Care about the environment? Same here; all of the light bulbs throughout the house are CFL or, if in the ceiling fans, circline florescent. Speaking of fans, we installed them in every room that can have one; eight in all.
Every room (save the Master Bathroom) is painted — a few are even faux painted. Crown molding rims most of the rooms in the house. Oh, did you know that most makers of custom wood shutters use a standard hinge size of 1 1/2″; even if the shutters are only 1″ thick? Yeah, that’s why most shutters you see have these hinges jutting out by a bit. We searched high and low before we found a shutter maker that would use the right size hinges.
And there’s so much more! Alas, this is already getting a bit long so I’m going to stop here. Suffice to say, the details mattered and we sweated those details.
